Transfers and Decals Fitting Instructions

Classic Bike Transfers & Decals Ltd, recommend sufficient time is allowed between the installation of transfers and decals, to the application of any type of lacquer. This is to allow the adhesive to set or water from the application process to evaporate.
 
Vinyl Cut Transfers/Decals
 

  1. Clean and degrease the area were the transfer/decal is to be applied.

  2. Temporarily position transfer/decal using masking tape.

  3. Using two pieces of masking tape, mark the location of the bottom and one side of the transfer/decal. This will act as a guide for locating the transfer/decal, care and attention should be taken to ensure the transfer/decal is located in the correct location.

  4. Remove transfer/decal and remove masking tape used to position transfer/decal.

  5. Turn transfer/decal on to it back, you will find two tabs of application tape at either end of the transfer and a white backing paper.

  6. Peel back both tabs of application tape.

  7. Then peel off the backing paper, to expose the adhesive.

  8. Position transfer/decal, using guides already positioned.

  9. Rub transfer/decal onto surface, now rub transfer/decal with stiff card (i.e. Credit Card etc…).

  10. Peel back application tape which is covering the transfer/decal, if any parts of the transfer lift, place the application tape over the transfer/decal and rub again with stiff card (i.e. Credit Card etc…), then peel back application tape.

11. Remove any masking tape used as guidelines and clean down area.
 
Waterslide Transfers/Decals
 

  1. Clean and degrease the area were the transfer/decal is to be applied.

  2. Temporarily position transfer/decal using masking tape.

  3. Using two pieces of masking tape, mark the location of the bottom and one side of the transfer/decal. This will act as a guide for locating the transfer/decal, care and attention should be taken to ensure the transfer/decal is located in the correct location.

  4. Prepare a bowl or plate with water.

  5. Place waterslide transfer/decal into the water.

  6. Allow transfer/decal to rise off the backing paper.

  7. Lift transfer/decal using the backing paper to support the transfer/decal.

  8. Place transfer in position, using guides.

  9. Place finger onto too transfer/decal and slide backing paper away.

  10. Carefully position transfer/decal and remove excess water with soft cloth.

  11. Allow transfer/decal to dry, ensuring that all moisture has been removed before applying any lacquer.

  12. Remove a masking tape used as guidelines.

 
Direct Application Transfers/Decals
 

  1. Clean and degrease the area were the transfer/decal is to be applied.

  2. Temporarily position transfer/decal using masking tape.

  3. Using two pieces of masking tape, mark the location of the bottom and one side of the transfer/decal. This will act as a guide for locating the transfer/decal, care and attention should be taken to ensure the transfer/decal is located in the correct location.

  4. Remove transfer/decal and remove masking tape used to position transfer/decal.

  5. Peel away the white backing paper.

  6. Position transfer/decal, using guides already positioned.

  7. Rub transfer/decal onto surface, now rub transfer/decal with stiff card (i.e. Credit Card etc…).

  8. Remove any masking tape used as guidelines and clean down area.

 
Mentholated Spirit Transfers/Decals
 

  1. Clean and degrease the area were the transfer/decal is to be applied.

  2. Temporarily position transfer/decal using masking tape.

  3. Using two pieces of masking tape, mark the location of the bottom and one side of the transfer/decal. This will act as a guide for locating the transfer/decal, care and attention should be taken to ensure the transfer/decal is located in the correct location.

  4. Prepare a bowl or plate with mentholated spirits.

  5. Place waterslide transfer/decal into the mentholated spirits.

  6. Allow transfer/decal to rise off the backing paper.

  7. Lift transfer/decal using the backing paper to support the transfer/decal.

  8. Place transfer in position, using guides.

  9. Place finger onto too transfer/decal and slide backing paper away.

  10. Carefully position transfer/decal and remove excess water with soft cloth.

  11. Allow transfer/decal to dry, ensuring that all moisture has been removed before applying any lacquer.

  12. Remove a masking tape used as guidelines.
